About this Qualification

This qualification is for people wishing to work with older people in the community. This could be in residential care or community care settings. The qualification will enable people to carry out activities to maintain personal care and other activities for people in an aged care setting.

What you will Learn

This course provides training for aged care workers in hostels, nursing homes, group homes, private homes and health related programs for the older people. You will gain the skills required to support and care for older people, and be able to:
• Provide personal care
• Provide support to an older person in the activities of daily living
• Support the older person to meet emotional and psychological needs
• Provide care support for individuals with dementia
• Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and colleagues
• Assist individuals with self medication
